"I Didn’t Author Derogatory Post On Igbo And Hausa" - Says Malami

Abubakar Malami

Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has denied charges that he wrote a nasty post about Igbo and Hausa.

Malami did not write or consider such a tweet, according to a statement published by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Umar Gwandu.

“The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice did not write and has never considered writing or posting such insulting words towards any tribe or sector of the country's multi-cultural and different communities.

Malami is a patriotic Nigerian and non-tribal partisan who believes in equality, fairness, and justice for all, regardless of tribe, geography, or gender, according to him.

The post's grammatical errors, seeming illogicalities and divisionary inclinations, as well as a lack of regard for humanity's diversity, according to Gwandu, make it palpably discordant to believe it was written by Malami.

“The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has advised the general public to ignore the post. Mischief makers and promoters of hatred developed and circulated it in order to smear the minister's hard-earned reputation,” Gwandu added.

He went on to say that a fact-check undertaken by various media organisations revealed that attributing the insulting post to Malami was not only false but also defamatory.
